Lions in Marloth Part 2

With the news of the lions roaming Marloth where we are taking our morning walk, the new awareness with heightened senses makes me think. I walk and think about life, how some days still feels so unreal to me as if I am living and dreaming at the same time. How my dear brother Riaan's passing and our missing him brought a sadness accompanied by what I can only describe as a numbing of senses. A stark contrast to what I feel now that encountering a hungry lion is a reality.

Has Covid-19, the loss of a loved one, income, work, and relationships caused a numbing of our senses and awareness of how precious life and humans around us are?

Do we numb to not feel or to avoid more loss and disappointment?

I may not be the best advice giver or ever want to advise, rather just be and observe life while passing by, but allow me to give you the same advice we received from the kind gentlemen in Marloth, "I suggest you walk with a big stick of faith and awareness, if you encounter the fear, numbing and challenges, do not run. Shout if you have to and wave the stick of prayer at them because you deserve to live a good life. They were seen yesterday in Renoster Street."

With love always,

Monique
